Overheard'Tis the season, and quite a number of people have asked me about my results. This came out of the blue as a result:

Random spotting from a K750i #3Geisha-mania's gonna hit Sg pretty soon, but seriously, would anyone wanna look THAT white in real life? The promo-hook-on-bus-thingy is surprisingly life size and looks really spooky at night.

Random Spottings from a K750i #1Is it just me, or are these Xmas faux 'pinecones' strangely reminicent of dog poo?

Random Spottings from a K750i #2Disgruntled jungle king (kong) spotted on pretty-in-pink doll cart in Toys-r-us. I just found it highly amusing that its expression is ironically befitting. Aww.. sensitive new ape guy. Gives SNAG a totally new dimension. haha..

Why I love the PRCsWell ok, so I admit it's part laziness, part inconvenience and part business that i've not been updating much. Went Selangor for competition and back, and have since sold my soul to the Xmas devil for carolling.
But anyway, the new 'in' toy for moi would have to be.. 'ta-da':
PPLIVE! Streaming online cable TV via the P2P mode! Though it feels more like the BitTorrent model personally. Basically, this just means the more people are online watching the same channel as you, the faster it gets. Courtesy of our uncouth, unscrupulous, unhumble and un-whatever asian counterparts. I'm pretty much sure it's illegal, since they're streaming movies (there's SEVEN stephen chow channels, Jackie Chan, Anita Mui, Chow Yun Fatt Channels, Harry Potter, James Bond, The Mummy, Young & Dangerous channels - just to name a few) as well as 'live' soccer matches (i'm 'watching' bolton vs. everton as I type away right now) for free! The catch is however, (hopefully) because as the casual user, streaming does not allow one to retain any copyrighted material, so i suppose the burden of legality issues would hence fall on the host/sources. But since it's new technology - and coming from the land of the great wall, I don't forsee any problems with its usage right now; or at least in the next 2 years.
So back to the motion of the day. In the great internet abyss of copyrighted content, with p2p platforms serving as the pirates' haven, it would only be a matter of time before conglomerates put a stop to this unreluctant magmanimosity. So u see Napster selling out, Kazaa getting sued, bitTorrent being monitored, etc etc. Thank heavens' for language barriers. Us chinese are one enterprising lot. With the mainland government concerned only with regulating local activities, all hells break loose internationally. Unless the international bodies learn unicode equivalence, or maybe hanyu pinyin if they're lucky, no way are they gonna figure out that 'Ha Li Bo Te' is synonymous with the geeky student wizard.
So u have songs, movies, even porn, all courtesy of the man in yellow. And the beauty of it all, they're all based overseas: the chinese government wouldn't care, and the stupid ang mohs prolly won't know and can't do shit. 'Hua Yu Cool'? Cool my ass. That's 'Hua Yu Ku' for you.
